Zip Line Trolleys

A Zipline Trolley is a device containing two or more pulley wheels that rides on top of the zip line cable and is responsible for safely carrying a rider via handlebar, harness or seat from one end of the zipline to the other.

Trolleys offer different features based on the intended riding operation. Some trolleys offer a solid built in handlebar, others are quickly detachable, and some have built-in carabiners. In most cases they are towed back to the starting position with a rope or by the riding attachment such as the seat. A quickly detachable trolley can be easily taken off the cable and carried to the next section or back to the starting point.

Speed and Strength Ratings

Usually Every Trolley, just as any other life support device, has a minimum braking strength rating. It is marked on the trolley or found in the item description on the website. Please see the article on breaking strengths and safe working loads to learn more about braking strengths.

The speed rating pertains to the bearings and how much work/speed they can handle. The dual ball bearing wheels will most likely handle the speed much better than single ball bearing wheel trolleys. The single ball bearing trolleys tend to reach higher speeds, but have a lower speed ratings as well as shorter life span.
